Uzone.id – Microsoft has introduced a new standard for AI-powered laptops, called Copilot+ PC. This standard demands that devices have advanced AI hardware capable of handling numerous AI models, including Copilot, which now leverages OpenAI’s GPT-4.

Similar to Android smartphones, these AI-based features will operate locally or on-device to safeguard user privacy. The intricate AI features necessitate powerful hardware. According to Microsoft’s specifications, the device must be capable of performing at least 40 trillion operations per second (TOPS).

Currently, the Copilot+ PC standard is primarily focused on ARM-based processors such as Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus. In the future, Microsoft aims to extend the Copilot+ PC standard to x86 processors from Intel and AMD.

Several AI laptops featuring Copilot+ PC are already available in the market, from brands like Microsoft, Asus, Lenovo, and others. All these laptops are equipped with exclusive Microsoft features including Live Caption, enhanced Windows Studio Effects, Microsoft Copilot with various plugins, and AI-Generated Content-based Co-Creator.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x is a compact laptop powered by the Snapdragon X Elite processor, Qualcomm’s top-tier offering. Its CPU is based on the 12-core Oryon and features a Hexagon NPU, making it a Copilot+ PC.

This laptop boasts a 14.5-inch OLED display with a 3K resolution and a wide 16:10 aspect ratio. The screen offers a smooth user experience with a 90Hz refresh rate.

One drawback is the limited port selection. There are only three USB-C ports, although Lenovo includes a dongle in the box for additional connectivity options.

2. Asus Vivobook S 15 OLED

Asus also has a laptop powered by the Snapdragon X Elite, called the Vivobook S 15 OLED. Its specifications are more or less the same as the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x, except for a slightly larger form factor.

It features a 15.6-inch OLED display, which Asus calls Lumina OLED. This display offers a smoother experience with a 120Hz refresh rate and a high 3K resolution for crisp colors and details.

In addition to Microsoft’s built-in AI features, Asus has included a feature called StoryCube. This feature is similar to a desktop version of Google Photos with full premium features. StoryCube is an exclusive AI-based application from Asus designed to simplify digital asset management.

3. Acer Swift 14 AI

If Asus and Lenovo only offer Snapdragon X Elite versions, Acer brings a Snapdragon X Plus variant to reach a wider range of consumers.

Despite its compact size, the Acer Swift 14 AI offers a fairly complete selection of ports. There are 2x USB Type-C ports and 2x USB 3.2 Type-A ports for added flexibility.
