Uzone.id – Google’s AI model, Gemini, is embedded in various Google services, including Gmail. The presence of Gemini AI in Gmail greatly helps users in their daily lives, especially for work matters.

In addition to simplifying the workflow, productivity can also increase thanks to the help of sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI) features. Well, this time we will review a series of AI features embedded by Google in the Gmail system, which you may not be aware of. What are they?

Gmail Q&A

Gmail Q&A is a new way to search your inbox with the help of Gemini AI. Instead of tiring yourself scrolling, just ask Gemini to search using the Gmail application on your smartphone or desktop via the web.

What’s the difference with the search column? With Gemini’s AI, the search is much more complex. For example, you can ask Gemini to collect details of concert tickets that have been attended over the past few months.

Or, ask it to find all discounted games based on emails from PlayStation, Steam, and other platforms. Everything is collected from the data in the email, and Gemini will summarize it neatly.

However, Gmail Q&A can only be accessed by users of the Google One AI Premium service or Google Workspace with Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, or Education Premium.

Workspace Labs

If you don’t subscribe to Google’s premium service (don’t be sad), you can join the Google Workspace Labs program. From this program, the Gemini button will appear in the Gmail application or web to handle various standard tasks.

Quoted from Android Authority, you can take advantage of Gemini’s fairly clear reply suggestions. This AI can be ordered to reply to emails that are being opened, just in case you are confused about how to respond.

Or, you can use Gemini to display unread emails from today. It is also possible to get details of online orders sent via email.

Another function, you can customize action items to outline a list of suggested tasks to reply to emails or follow up on details in them.

Summarize

Gemini can actually also summarize the contents of your email. However, there is a feature integrated with Gmail that makes it easier to summarize messages, right at the top of the email in the application or web version.

As the name implies, Gemini will summarize the selected email, displaying brief and clear information to the user. This Summarize feature can also provide a list of points that explain the details in the selected email or summarize the text into one sentence.

Very suitable for emails with a lot of information.

Help Me Write

This is one of the interesting features, allowing you as a user to create emails quickly through commands. Examples of prompts that you can try, such as “write a get well soon message for a colleague” or “draft an invitation to a celebration”.

Not only creating a new email from a command, Help Me Write also allows you to edit the email draft to make it more proper when sent to colleagues.

There are several types of writing, such as Elaborate which adds additional details to a short email draft. This feature makes the contents of the email more detailed, suitable when you want to convey an idea, a general description of a problem, or want to attract the attention of clients through a proposal.

Then Formalize, a feature that focuses on rewriting email drafts in a more professional manner. This option is useful for composing emails to prospective employers when sending CVs, asking for more details about cars from vehicle dealers, or other situations that prefer formal language.

Then there is Polish, an option that will probably be used a lot by Gmail users. For example, you make rough notes, Polish will compose a clearer email based on the rough notes, although not as detailed as Elaborate.

Shorten is another feature, if you are ‘too creative’, so that the email draft feels too long. Shorten can summarize it for you.

More AI Features in Gmail

In addition to the features above, there are other AI sophistication that Gmail users can take advantage of. For example, Nudges, which provides notifications to users if there is an email that has not been responded to for a long time.

Then Summary Cards, a feature that displays important information from an email at the top of the window. This feature is usually used to display travel details, reservations, and package deliveries.

Then Tabbed Inbox, a feature that helps sort promotions, spam, and other ‘junk’ into separate inboxes. As well as Smart Reply and Smart Compose which are also supported by AI Gemini.

So, which feature is your favorite?
